The upper guys though who accepted the gifts also got the promotions and big bonuses from my work. When confronted, all they say is that I'M cynical! Give me a break! They took gifts that if they worked for the federal government they would be reprimanded, sent work to the company that gave the gifts, and was bonused and promoted for this type of behavior. Is there no integrity?

This one's gonna hurt Corporate Gifts to the Bigwigs

I've spent a lot of time in the corporate world and the disgust seems to come through in some of the notes I write. No apologies here. This time though I wanted to write something a little different. Namely, the pressures on people within the corporate structure.

There was this project I was working on that the vendor kept sending me gifts. Not gifts like girls on a stick or anything like that but corporate gifts. These people sent me a monthly gift of something, I think trying to generate "good will." What they didn't realize is that I don't accept gifts of any sort from anyone involved with a project. Interestingly enough however, the upper management also received the gifts and THEY DID keep them. So in the end, my good work implemented the project on time and on budget.
