Project Management Software can help keep a program organized
Good project management software can help keep a project organized. The newer project management software packages can track not only the timeline using specialized charting such as a Ghantt chart. These programs also can assign and track resources and knowing the how much any part of the project has been completed.
Of particular interest is the critical path feature. A critical path is what needs to be done when that limit how quickly a project can be completed.
This series of activities determine how quickly or how early the project can be completed given the current plan and resource committments. The critical path can and typically does change as the various activities are completed ahead of or behind schedule. Although initially figured on the total project, the critical path can also be calculated for milestones or parts of the total project.
