Shipping a Body
Did you know that it's easy to ship a body? That's right folks, we're talking a real dead body like you see at the funeral home. When shipping bodies, commercial airplanes are typically used with the body and coffin loaded just like cargo. Actually, it IS cargo to the airline and they have specific rules and shipping requirements to ship a body.
Bodies are shipped mostly because someone died in another state and need to be buried in a particular place or area. This is especially true in the older eastern areas of the US where people travel to the south and spend a good protion of the winters there but have an established residence in the colder north.
So if you have a need for shipping a body, don't forget to give a call to the airline to make certain all rules are met. Of course, the funeral home will probably know just what to do.
