That time of year again

We're soon approaching that wondrous time of year again when our hearts turn to the holidays. What the heck were we thinking putting Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas so close together.

And why can't we just change one to the end of January. I think that in some societies, Christmas actually is celebrated on Epiphany, around January 6th or so. Now for those who aren't familiar with Epiphany, it's the time that we honor or recognize the visit from the Wise men in the Christmas story. Interesting however that the wise men are not called kings in the bible, nor was there evidence of there being only 3. Further, visit from the wise men as apparently much later than 12 days from when we celebrate Christmas on December 25th. The point here is that if it isn't historically correct, why not move these holidays around for the benefit of us all.
